Message from the President

I am Portia Waynick, new president of the National United Christian Women’s Ministries.  I am truly humbled and count it an honor to serve the women of COCHUSA.portia

I am also very thankful to have had the opportunity to learn and prepare myself for this position while working under the remarkable leadership of our former UCWM presidents: Sister Regina Washington and Sister Geraldine Drake.

Praise the Lord for the remarkable women that comprise the UCWM Executive Board. I pray that God will empower each member of this board to seek God’s will, and continue to grow in grace, faith and knowledge as we fulfill our respective responsibilities.

Our goals for this term will fall in line with our mission and vision statements.

The United Christian Women’ s Ministries encourages women of all ages to cultivate their relationship with Christ and provide services that will challenge, train and equip its members and future generations for ministry, evangelism and spiritual growth.

The United Christian Women’zXs Ministries, through faith and prayer, will:

  • Uplift the name of Jesus
  • Cultivate relationships with accountability
  • Work to train, educate, build and evangelize
  • Mentor women, new converts, youth and children

With the help of the Lord our goals are to:

  • Continue building intergenerational relationships among the women of all ages. Specifically with our  20 to 40 age group and our seniors.
  • Develop/focus on habitual involvement in evangelism and the Prayer, Care, Share ministry
  • Appoint (and develop) our ministry facilitators to be able to offer training for each facility/ministry on the diocese, district, and local levels as requested by diocese presidents to facilitate effectiveness in ministry.
  • Develop a heart for local/world outreach and missions. Reach out more to the missionaries that our church supports.
  • Offer more financial and moral support to CM&I in 2012-13.
  •  Support the efforts of the senior living development through the MRCF

We want our ladies to feel uplifted and encouraged as a result of our women’s ministry activities at all levels.  Pray for us as we seek God together for the exciting things he wants us to accomplish during this term of office.

In His Service,

Portia Waynick
